puzzles past 2k rating
Wow, over 2000 puzzles rating is amazing for having a rapid rating currently in the 900s. Yes, chess.com puzzles are a bit inflated to game ratings by a few hundred points, but your puzzle ability is amazing! ![]()
Yeah, puzzles get much tougher once you get that high. However, it also becomes a little more sustainable when you learn more chess overall and increase your general chess understanding. If your tactical ability is this high, then something else must be holding back your game ratings; with a puzzles rating over 2100, I'd estimate the player's game ratings are around 1600 or so (but obviously chess ability in an entire game is much more than just tactical ability).
Have you learned about chess opening principles yet? Most people learn them before they get to 1200 (and usually before they get to 1000), but I learned them embarrassingly late (I didn't formally learn "opening principles" until I was already over 1500 chess.com rating). https://www.chess.com/blog/KeSetoKaiba/opening-principles-again What about studying basic checkmates and basic theoretical endgames such as King + pawn vs King (when it is winning as well as when drawn with best defense), or King + Queen vs King checkmate, or King + Rook vs King checkmate.
