Queen having to resign to King possible?

Hello all,

I was thinking of a situation where the black queen has to make a move, to be captured by the white king. I can think of two variations:

1) Where she has to capture a horse, to be taken by the king.

2) Where its impossible for the black king to move, forcing the black queen to block the attack on either a square capturable by the king, or a square capturable by the attacker.

Is there a position where a queen is forced to capture or occupy a space, where the enemy king can capture her, and this being the only possible move? Ie., forced resignation of the queen.

You mean sacrificing the queen?

No. I meant, a situation where moving the queen into a vulnerable position is the only option left. You can only force to move the queen by an attack on the king.

I think the only way for the king to in return capture the (black) queen is to sacrifice a horse.

Otherwise, say the black king being under attack by a bishop, it leaves open two moves for the queen, one to go to a diagonal of the bishop, blocking the attack, on a square defended by the king - or to move to another square on the diagonal.

Since the queen can't go 'inside' the space between two kings, where a king can capture her. There, by the rules, is no possibility for this situations to occur without using a horse.

I think.
