Does anyone know any good sources on how to master that endgame? I have looked at this a long time ago by watching the chess lessons, but never really understood it. All I understand about this endgame so far, is how to win the Philidor Position.

There are certain key positions that can be memorized and are useful to win this endgame.

The Philidor position is a K+R+P vs. K+R.

No, there are several different Philidor positions. I am talking about this Philidor position.

i just try to get close to the rook and king with my king and queen and can't remember that it didn't work.

Against the average human player it's way easier to win this endgame than against stockfish. However there is like a 3rd rank defense like in K+R vs K+R+P. Also you have to watch out for stalemate tricks, when you get your queen and king too close to the opponent's king.

It's Mate in 10

This is another key position, white has to set up threats of forks against the opposing rook and king to break their 3rd rank defense.

Another key position:

I am just wondering if it's enough to know a few of these key positions, to master this endgame.

On YouTube there is a great series on subject from Derek Grimmell. But it is very very hard.

Ok , so I am practicing against the engine, it is still way too hard for me, especially to do in under 50 moves...
