Forgive me for being 700, but when black played b5, why not play a4?

I believe that's one mainline, more so after 23rd not e4

so many queen moves by black in the opening

this is why you don't make tons of queen moves in the opening, it just gets chased around

For real personally I like to keep my queen inactive until the endgame. it’s just my playing style.

The way I’ve understood it is black tries to defend the pawn from being taken by the bishop, which weakens his queenside and allows white to control the center. a4 after b5 is just a trade and while white can take with the queen, it doesn’t develop much and just leaves you with a wayward queen. I believe you can play a4 to trade and take with the queen, but I’ve understood it as taking control of the center is best if black tries to defend that pawn

Ya, its the most common move, it messes up whites queen side

The move of the game was 47. Rb2, hanging the rook, and neither side noticed it for 3 full moves. And in the end black lost on time, presumably? It's weird to show this game at all.

It is perfectly fine to accept the Queen's Gambit.

It’s lowkey OP and if you just play it all the time you get in the habit of the moves and start learning all the lines without even studying then

QGA is so much fun to play, especially when black tries to hold on to their c4 pawn
