That's the average score when playing the move with a win valued as 100%, a draw at 50%, and a loss as 0%.
For example, if there were say 2 games with the move 17.a4 in the database, 25% would mean white has scored one draw (0,5) and one loss (0), averaging 0,25
I have a basic question for any Fritz users out there.
When I am using Fritz's "Opening Book" or "Live Book" there is a "N" or "Games" column that represents the number of games in the database for that particular position. Next to that column there is a "%" or "Result" column. I had interpreted this %/Result number to be the percentage of games that move was played which were won by the color who made that move.
This logic doesn't seem to add up, however, as some numbers seem really high. For example, a black move early in a known opening wins 54% of the time, OR a black move wins 55% of the time and then the best white move wins 55% of the time, and so on. Certainly many games must end in a draw? And how can both sides be winning that much?
If anyone can help explain how to properly interpret this column in Fritz, I would be greatly appreciative!
