"Number 6, number 6, WHY DID YOU RESIGN!?"

Hahaaa

Since we're quoting great TV shows;

Malcolm Tucker: It IS possible to have a good resignation, you know!
Hugh Abbott: "A good resignation"? Oh, I'm looking forward to how you're gonna sell THIS to me!
Malcolm Tucker: Look, people really like it when you go just a bit early! You know, steely jawed, faraway look in your eyes! Before they get to the point when they sitting round in pubs and say "Oh, that f-er's got to go!", you surprise them! "Blimey, he's gone! I didn't expect that! Resigned! You don't see THAT much anymore! Old school! Respect! I rather liked the guy! He was hounded out by the f-ing press!" How about that, ah? What a way to go! Yeah!

Good movie.

well i am new jan2010. if you dont  like the topic stay out of it. sarcasm is weakness as well, (avoiding the topic).  i dont care about ratings except that i like to play against similar skill level. i just get frustrated how easily some folks give up esp. early in a game and wanted to encourage them to play on to increase their ability. thanks for the responses

Yea, the movie (In The Loop) is a branch-off from the TV series (The Thick of It).  If you did enjoy the movie, you absolutely should get a hold of the series - it's much more localized in that it handles British Politics alone, so it lacks the meta-cynicism of the film, but because it's aims aren't quite so grand the swearing is even better!

If you made a blunder and lost a piece, probably you can fight on. But if your opponent wins your piece, know that he is NOT going to leave you. If you can resign in hopeless position against such opponent without thinking of if's and but's

I never resign - instead I take the maximum per move and use up all my vacation time and try to guess my opponent's password so that I can login as them and resign my game.

Hey, I feel better about myself now. I'm not alone.
