Lifetime ban is too harsh. Instead he should be required to wear a bib in all matches. The bib would say on it, "I was a cheater but not anymore, trust me".
A lifetime ban there isn't right but hey, Doesn't chess.com lifetime ban for cheating? I mean people can change.

Agreed. The penalty should be the same as what he would have received if he had embezzled (in the USA) the amount of money awarded as 1st prize. Why the USA? Well, we shouldn't chop his hands off. So at least a 10-year suspension (since FIDE can't imprison anyone).
