Wdym? The game has Indian origins. So are you going to call us racist for creating such rules? And then you remember that we are "brown" in your classification... see, perpetuation of the "white" "black" etc. labels for "racial" groups is perpetuating this racism problem. Just forgive and forget... and I say that coming from a country that has suffered quite a lot at the hands of colonialism. Moaning about the past isn't going to get us anywhere, and only perpetuates hate.
RACISM IN CHESS. White moves first

If we're going to be serious, chess is both racist. classist, and sexist which is rooted in it's history. It's been a sexist sport which bashes on women who play the game and its a game primarily dominated by men. The game/competition secluded women and men primarily because FIDE officials probably thought women were inferior and couldn't play as well, (which they can). It's classist throughout history as the sport was prominently domineered by cis white men and poorer individuals never could afford lessons and racist by the same ideology where cis white men controlled most wealth and were able to learn the sport.

i personal i think that it is great that white goes first it accurately represents society :}:}:}:}:}:}:}

Racism? What about sexism?
Why are the pieces called chessMEN?
How can we be sure that women are represented in pawn structures?
They aren't called "chessmen", they are called "chess pieces."
End of discussion.

It's also sexist. The most powerful piece is male
A very very feeble and exceptionally slow male at that.

You know, chess was invented in an area where all the people were a similar shade of brown. How would black and white fit into that? I think white moves first because most cultures have viewed day coming before night. It was natural to base games and many other things on the most obvious contrast in their lives, day and night.
The power of the pieces has changed over time for a number of reasons. None of those reasons are important anymore. It's just a game. you don't need to get your britches in a bunch over it.
I did the test. It does land mostly heads
