i think it's very funny. have they ever tried to promote multiple queens in an effort to humiliate you into resigning?

You have the right to play on with just a King if you chose, just as your opponent has the right to keep promoting. Its the price you pay for not resigning. I personally like promoting to all rooks.

I challenge myself to mate with 4 knights!
When I can I wall off their King from my pawns, get two oppo-colored Bishops and then sac the queen. If you can't resign against a Queen or more it's not my damn fault.
i think the deciding factor in any case probably should be to find the most effective way to reach a positive conclusion in ending the game in your favor. If the quickest way to end it is with a bunch of queens, so be it. On the other hand, if you purposely pass up a forced mate just to queen a pawn, that might be just vindictive..., not to mention not very artistic.

My point exactly, and I can't see risking a draw for the purpose of humiliating your opponent.

If you dont want to run the risk of beig humiliated then resign.
I agree, if you know the game is lost and your opponent shows every indication of not only knowing how to win a won game, but humiliating you in the process, resignation is probably the only "good" move.

The quickest way to a conclusion when your opponent has you at his mercy is to resign. If you choose to waste time pushing your king back and forth, your opponent may certainly choose to waste time pushing pawns.

going back to the original rant...; yeah mommy told me not to play with my food but..., if it moves and continues to do so?! that looks like fun does it not?

Okay, so you are a troll. We are alerted.
All I am saying is that you should play with honor. If you can mate your opponent, then do so.
Besides, just as a reminder, this was a rant. Rants are not always known for their calm, deliberating logic. Sometimes it just rubs me the wrong way. I think if you are playing this game in order to try and humiliate people, you may need to switch gears. It seems unsportsmanlike, and not in keeping with the beauty of the game.
In gaming, we have a word for people who insist everyone plays with Honor.
