I know that there is the possiblity of playing rated USCF games online in certain circumstances such as a college/team league. Are there other oppurtunities to do this? And if so what are they?

I think there are USCF correspondence games that do so.

I'm not so sure, but you can check on uschess.org's correspondence chess to see. I've heard that you can play some USCF rated correspondence games online.
