Rating

The definition of a beginner, intermediate and advanced player isn't exactly well defined, it really depends on the individual. You could say that starting out, a player <900 is a beginner, then between 900-1800 you're intermediate and anywhere above >1800 you are advanced, but a grandmaster might argue with you that you're not advanced until 2500+...

So it's hard to say. Also, it depends on what rating you consider. Let's say for biltz, there are grandmasters who are around 2400 rated, but then there's Nakamura who's 3200+. That's a huge range. On average, I would say you start seeing grandmasters consistently at around 2700+ blitz rating.
