Beating someone rated 300 points higher will adjust your rating up more points than beating someone rated = to you. I briefly look at your recent games and didn't see any where you beat someone rated 300 points higher... maybe you could link us the game you're thinking of?

In a chess game, if I win or lose what determines the amount my rating will adjust. I thought that the variance would determine the amount that the rating would change. However, I recently won a game where I was playing an opponent whose rating was almost three hundred greater than mine and got almost the same rating adjustment as I had received earlier in the day when I beat an opponent with a rating almost equal to mine.
