when you face a harder opponent like a NM. you play better because otherwise. you'll lose. meanwhile when you're playing a 1700 you play slightly worse (not badly just not as good). but you're brain doesn't recognise this. and although it feels like they know 20+ moves of theory in reality. they're probably just playing natural moves that look like they know off by heart. (maybe because of the speed they play the moves.)

People in here 17 hundreds play like Experts(2000) , sometimes ike NM or CM (2200).
I mean it so so so rare to play someone that actually 17 hundred B class player.
They know 25+ moves of theory, great position understanding, forget about hanging pieces etc....
I mean when I go to my local club and play OFFICIAL CM and NM's I'm getting much easier time , well maybe not so much easier but similar good positional games, no hanging pieces, fast , precise play etc BUT they are rated like 21.22, 23 hundred !!!! And here 17 hundreds !!!!!!!!
What's going on is this just me or you feel the same ?
