Thank you for sharing those, thats exactly what i was wondering about. Ok so my best bet is to hope for a National Master title while im still young. Time to start planning on joining the USCF and finding some local clubs/tournaments!

The rating system here works very well in my opinion, and from what i understand mirrors the actual ELO system used by FIDE (As i understand it) I have been making huge strides in my game lately, and am starting to think about joining tournaments locally, or perhaps a chess club, to further learn the game. Im wondering how to obtain an actual recognized ELO rating. Is the rating system used by USCF acknowledged by FIDE? If i join a tournament here in phoenix for example, what rating do i earn, and who recognizes that rating?. As a long term goal of wanting to earn the 'Master' title, where should i start to begin moving towards this goal aside from playing , practicing, and studying a huge amount each day? Sorry i know thats going to require quite a few different answers l :)
