Gothamchess is so bad....He just beat Firouzja the best blitz player in the world

I love his channel. He deserves to make even more money. Those were just the only flaws I could find which are kind of annoying. But the way he can explain so many different chess lines with absolutely no stutter or hesitation is unmatched.

Gotham is so annoying.

In addition to all the random side talk, he talks too slow in general. I have to watch his videos on 2x the speed most of the time to stay focused.

Like I get it, it's funny, but you don't have to take 2-3 minutes explaining how black hasn't moved his pieces.."and this rook this dude is like just uhm drunk at the castle party with the king, this bishop is just roaming around the board going for a stroll (proceeds to replay every bishop move to make his point), and the rook and the queen are just tumbling over each other and dint attack anything, it's like those days when you..etc..etc" like just say blacks position is cramped, that's it. The constant replays and side talk and run on sentences are annoying, but definitely much more enjoyable than annoying.

to all the people complaining: you just don't like the way he explains things. Yeah, he screams "THE ROOOOK" a lot and go rambling about comparisons for 4 minutes straight, but that's just the way he teaches and entertain. As he said - and I agree - sometimes chess is a boring game, and to see someone saying how black just shat all over the board it's pretty funny. You don't need to like him or watch his content, just don't go excessive hating because of your personal preference. There's a hundred channels on YouTube about chess, go watch them instead and let people enjoy things for God's sake.

Negative reviews and criticism are common and well established forms of critical response to all sorts of creative endeavors. Why is it that if it is directed towards social media content creators it is suddenly "hate and jealousy"? Why are we supposed to say only good things or nothing lest we be labeled as haters?

Yeah I don't get why so many people think social media influencers should be praised like idols. I have nothing against gothamchess, but some other dumb influencers..I wish youtube would implement an anti-subscribe button, a button that blocks their content and prevents it from ever showing up in the algorithm/recommendations when you load youtube, and subtracts 1 from their subscriber total. Subscriber stats should reflect opposition to your channel as well, but youtube can't even accept dislikes so that will never happen lol

Yeah but if it doesn't change the subscriber count it doesn't reflect the opposition to the channel. For all you know half of the people could be subscribed just to hate on the creator in the comments.

Yeah but who cares, who cares if you hate a channel. Just press don’t recommend and you won’t get recommended. It’s a useless change and there is no point
