Recieving a USCF rating

Guys I want to get my USCF rating so how do you get it?

Join the USCF and play in tournaments.

If I can do it, anyone can!

I'm not sure the chess.com rating isn't better these days.  You can get tons more games, much cheaper, against the whole world, without having to deal with the problems created by all the fast-rising scholastic players.  Nothing at all against the scholastic players, but if they start off with an 800 rating and them improve fast (which they often do) they are *way* underrated...and there are tons of them.

There may also be "ratings only" tourneys, as they do in Atlanta, where there is only a nominal partipation fee.  But you still have to be a member.
