Relative Beginner/Intermediate Seeking Help

Hey guys, sorry if I put this in the inappropriate forum. Anywho, greetings. I'm 16 years-old and have recently got back into Chess (I probably learned it when I was 6 or so, but never played too often). For the last few months, I've been playing some folks at school in the student commons

Hello Nockfur. I mysef am a novice, and recently came to this site to learn, play, and be part of the community. It has been a great investment so far. I have been staying busy with the tactics training, chess mentor, and puzzles. I have also been watching a few of the videos offered here on site. Another thing that I have been doing is going to the local library to check out books without having to buy them. I have been avoiding all but the genral beginners books at this time. I have been starting to play a few more games (I started a tournament here on site and now I have my hands full with eight games at once, plus a few more outside of the tournament). It sounds like, for the most part, folks have been offering good advice. Just keep at it, and I wish you the best in your chess improvment!
