If you have family that you get along with that play Chess, consider it a blessing.

I'd much prefer playing OTB than online, which is why I like to keep a physical board updated wth the Corrospondence games I play here... makes it more "real" and fun if that makes any sense.

Still miss looking opponent in the eyes though.

I have two brothers, one I taught when I was 15 and he 5 and I cannot beat, the other loathes chess, would rather play Monopoly.  We get along, it depends on what day it is.  None of my sons play.  Unfortunately my two cousins who died early in life, one from an overdose and the other from a heart attach both loved chess and played supremely well.
