You probably had other options to but they were most likely disadvantageous to pursue. You should post a link to the game so we call all analyze the Dickens out of it.
i recently played a game where i was up alot of points. my opponent made and good move and forced me into a repetition draw. im pretty new to chess so forgive me if this seems stupid but it seems like if someone is attacking you but cant complete the mate, shouldn't they lose the points on the draw? they had other options.
