Resign Button

There are a lot of complaints about players who refuse to resign lost games. Would it be prudent for chess websites to omit the resign button? Think about it... It would be hard to accuse someone of being disrespectul or mean spirited for not resigning when he has no choice to. By the same token, it is harder for a true buttwipe to be antagonistic when he has no choice but to play on. Eliminating the resign button might go a long way toward restoring some civil sportsmanship to chess or at least eliminating one method of causing rancor. What do you think?

Millions of games are played here. There are occasion problems with people who won't resign. Learning to resign is part of learning the game. It's really not a problem once you get beyond a certain level.

That's no reason to change the basic rules of the game.
