resigning when queen is lost?

Nf4 in that position is completely winning for white, this time I did use an engine.
MitSud
Check the engine eval, +5.41 after Nf4

U get one decent check and then the king escapes and u lose.

What losing and learning said is correct, also I would recommend watching all the free videos (as u are not a premium member) in the study plan, to get u started.

Wait, u were white? Oh sorry I didn’t realise, lol, I thought u were black

Never resign!

Everyone makes great points here but look at Magnus's game in Tata steel tournament where he is a entire piece down and still wins with only a 150 point difference he should have lost but all the more reason to play on. I'm not saying play on without a queen but if it's not serous then play on and cross your fingers the worst that an happen is you lose.

Okay - now I see. I was about to say you needed glasses. grin.png He could've won though had he played h5. Lucky for me he played Qg4 which is a howler.

If you are at 800, you should not give up when a queen down. You should play all the way to checkmate. I would only give up when a queen down against a really good player, like 2000.
