Reviewing offline games?

Does anyone know how to analyze games that you play offline? So when I'm offline (say in an airplane) I often play a Bot on the chess.com app (on my iPad). Once I'm done I would like to analyze/review the game (which obviously I can't do offline). Problem is when I come back online I can't find any traces of the game that I had played. It's just gone. Any idea on how to retrieve the game and perform an analysis?

After the game you should be able to export the PGN. You should also be able to use the local analysis, just not Game Review.

Unfortunately not. As soon as I turn off Airplane mode, and go back to WiFi, I completely lose the game and I can't even find any signs of the game anywhere.

I was looking for a way to save a game directly onto my phone since being offline removes the option of games being transferred to the cloud. The best I could do is to copy the pgn file to a word processor and then import it into a program on my phone to analyze it there.

The alternative might be to go to the Analysis page under the Learn tab and import every pgn file into the library there when you gain internet access.

Thanks. Your idea makes sense (of copying the pgn). Are you able to access the pgn when you are offline? And how do you do that (when playing against a Bot offline)?

It's stored temporarily on your phone. You need to then import it into a word processor or a program ASAP to save it. On the app on my android phone, I went to options-Copy PGN.

Thanks - will give it a try

Simply export to "chessis" app, beside being "game review" type of the app, you have nicely ordered list of all the games you have exported via "share PGN", after completed chess.com game. Every game is, vis, automatically stored offline.

Edit: You can do it while on aeroplane, spaceship, or as pedestrian happy.png

Hmm...never heard of this app. So if you are the chess.com app is there an option to directly export it to chessis?

Yes, you directly export your game. When finish the game, click the icon on the lower left. Among many options you'll see "export as PGN". Click on that. Among many apps ( to "share" with ), one of recommended apps will be "Chessis". Click on that, of course and you are done.
The app is on google play made by some individual developer so don't have marketing at all, that's why I've stumbled on it only by accident and already 2 plus years I'm using it.
It has billion settings, possibilities and hidden options, you will enjoy. As "game review" on steroids and much MUCH more.
Edit: The Phone automagically recognizes "chess type of the app" to share the game, directly, after you clicked said "export as PGN" immediately upon chess.com app announcing the result. In the settings of the "chessis", by default there should be accuracy set to percents not centipawns. Among moves, when you click on "why is blunder" or "why is the mistake", the app spits out the comment and variation. You should be able to go through variation without autoplay, e.t., move by move. Also, you have quiz to test you about your mistakes and also, possibility to "cycle through" specific mistakes or blunders, just for white, just for black or for the both (by taping the symbols below the board - just one of myriad of the possibilities... )... instead of "brilliant" you have "genius"...
You can fine-tune the number and level of the threats, presented by arrows, squares, circles... detected by chosen engine (you have stockfish, latest, there by default)
Turn off anything in settings (and sub-settings) marked by "hidden" to be - "shown", etc., etc. ...

EDIT 2: Beside mentioned circles, squares, dashed arrows you have also (insane), dot symbols of various colors to show different kind of pawns: backward, isolated, passed, etc... and also, "pin" symbol, also overlaying the piece for the actual pin, x-ray "go-through" arrows, dashed squares and stars for tactical shoots, all piece-overlaying... I certainly mentioned just a little part...

Nice info...
