The einstein one? Good job! 98 % of the people can't even solve it !

I have two coins which are worth together 30 pence. One is not a 20 pence piece. How can this be? For those not familiar with British coinage, coins in use are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 pence. Then you have one pound and two pound coins.
The other one is a 20 cent piece.
I like that one. I couldn't figure it out.

Turns out english isn't my preffered language either, although I don't know any other languages, yet.
I go into a shop and enquire about a certain item. The shop keeper says, " One will cost 50 pence. Twelve will cost £1 and one hundred and forty-four will cost £1 - 50p." What item did I want?
