Bill Williams died Thursday, February 19, 2025, at the age of 86.
Bill was a USCF Life Master and a 9-time Wisconsin State (co-) Champion. He won these state titles in five different decades, from 1968 to 2002. He founded Badger Chess, a newsletter that ran throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
He was a great player and a great supporter of chess.
