WHY GOD WHY, HE WAS MY FREAKING CHUM.

We will always remember his first days on chess.com and how he was easy to trigger.

I will also remember his "how to become 2000" article where he lists a good selection of books (btw anyone remember all of them)?

Hopefully modestandpolite will find love and peace wherever he went.

PD, he freaking beat me in a won position, that is what I get for my "showmanship" (in his own words), cant believe I missed 2 pretty basic moves!!!

Sorry to hear this, I liked him.
But he was so deadly serious all the time!

Thats what not being exposed enough to the internet does to you, sadly.

I had an intense discussion about his book recommendations.

Here are the books mentioned.

The Game of Chess by Tarrasch.

The Art of Checkmate by Renaud and Kahn.

Chess Endings: Essential Knowledge by (I can't remember)

Creative Chess Strategy  by (I can't remember)

The Mammoth Book of the World's Greatest Chess Games by (I can't remember)

Zurich 1953 by (I can't remember)

The art of attack by Keres and Kotov.

And a few more I can't remember.

Thanks! I have heard that Fischer recommended Tarrasch games for improvement. I have been trying to get my hands on Tarrasch's 300 games book.

Zurich 1953 was written by me!
