wed morning not so good again 5 losses in row some 40/50 move losses some 14/15 move losses--- have to try one more game this morning - maybe 10 min. game see if that changes anything - if not -well then re think something need a drastic change of event to stir me up
roadblock
what is going on ???????????????? six wins in a row 154 score ????- just don't get it one two three days in row lose lose lose -- then 6 in row wins same tactics -- same type of players against -- what gives ??? oh well off to do honey due list for a little while then back right after lunch --
its now 161 score best i have had in a long time maybe after supper i can get a few more wins how knows ?
up to 171 score this Friday morning -- the new opening i am trying is working at least most of the time - hope noon sessions will be as productive --
well slight slip this Saturday morning down a bit - but played lots of draws unusual for me maybe late this afternoon i can get up a few games we will see
Sunday afternoon has gotten off to a even start still at 180 score so that 200 mark may or may not come today tomorrow or anytime if my luck doesn't hold out
monday lunch play got up to 191 today --- wow -- luck is still holding out -- couple of draws - but late this afternoon will try again to go over the 200 mark
Tuesday morning i 'm slipping back again 171 score also playing some players who at 104 or 110 seemed to have high opening moves for such grunt players - that's why iam playing 3 min. games hard to cheat at that speed --*** really its just me not looking ahead fast enough*** or lousing concentration after about four moves letting the clock get under 2:30 before before move 6-- usually then i am toast - off to honey due list things for a while then off to see grandkids school xmas recital just before noon - will be back this afternnoon to right the ship i hope
playing 3 min. games hard to cheat at that speed
Nobody below 200 is cheating in any time format.
Thought you'd be further along by now... last checked in a month ago. Looking at your latest games, ya gotta quit moving your queen on move 3, along with hanging pieces in the opening. Everyone hangs pieces now and then, but it rarely happens in the opening.
Before your next few games you play say this sentence out loud - "the opening of chess is a race to develop."
That means not moving same piece twice early and it definitely means not moving the queen on move 3. Develop, castle, and then consider finding a good place for the queen.
Give 'em hell Doker! In another month, I expect to see you rated 500 at the very least.
well 500 would a major stretch for me ina month maybe 250 would be a great improvement
yes i will stop moving my queen before say move 10 i will try that -- see if that gives me more weight later in the game
i thought i was developing my defense - as fast as i can - i am a defense player mind you
really not sure how i could race any faster than i am ---maybe i miss the point ?you are making
thanks for the pipe in alway enjoy when people try to help out -
********love live the basement****
well that no moving my queen thing didn't work lost four games in row and lost my queen earlier that i would have-- oh well back to basic plan again
well back to the basement again lost all my mojo now need to regroup and get my moves back to what i has before ----- see you tonight
yes this game wasn't one of my best -- should have stayed home with all my pieces - not sure what you mean by tempo - then again i am not very smart-- but i did get to move 39 which for me is pretty good -- rather than lose at move 10/12 thanks for the advice - i see which you could pick any of my games out and show me where i went wrong -- this one did make a point -- i think i will modify my opening accordingly again thanks
"Wasted tempo" just means wasted moves... like moving the same piece over and over again in the opening, rather than spending those tempos/moves developing. That's the problem with bringing out queen early - easily attacked and has to move again, wasting moves that could've been used to develop pieces.
Always remember - The opening of chess is a RACE TO DEVELOP. Get those knights and bishops out as fast as possible, castle, and then start rerouting knights or develop Queen. Win the development race, and tactics magically appear.
Ok, let's take a look at a recent game. BTW - I'm no chess expert either (1300's in 10 minute). But you're either going to be 500+ rated soon or I'm gonna die trying to help. ![]()
yes your are right ---its just i will lose no matter what i do -- so getting more games in a time limit frame is better for my enjoyment than a long laborious game where i still lose -- tuesday i finally got out of the basement to 125 ---- not really good wins -- but losses are all over 50 moves which is good well try after supper tonight must go lay down for a nap meds starting to kick in
