hi
I see you love to fianchetto your pawn and bishop (which is perfectly fine) as you do it a lot, but the problem with this particular opening: is 1) Knight on the rim, 2) Advanced h pawn weakens king, 3) No center control:
You can still fianchetto, just do it with knight on its "natural square", not advancing h pawn for better king protection, and more center control. Something like this:
well that makes perfect sense your way on that opening -- so i will try that in the morning -- did poorly tonight played three games all losses my own fault iam sure -- some of the players i played just had better theory thinking than i did even though they had lower ranks -- does make you think -- if a guy can beat you in 10 moves why is he at 104 makes no sense to me -- but then iam tired need to drift off -- maybe one more game i will try that move with knight see what it does
I got you to castle (which is awesome), but what happened to DON'T MOVE THE SAME PIECE TWICE IN THE OPENING !?!
I'm gonna chalk this game up to it being late... While you sleep, dream about developing all your pieces. I thought we had a deal - no moving the same piece twice until BOTH knights and bishops are developed.?. Same goes for rook moves. Wait until you're FULLY developed.
Oh Canada. ![]()
wednessday morning three losses in a row against 100 score players -- just wondering i am that bad - to lose to three players who are in the basement with me some of them take long long time between moves --i am questioning now if they are using help -- cause i seem to be winning the games up till move 20 on avg -- then i in some blunders on my part i admit but sometimes not - they use really tricky moves with their knights - most don't castle at the start most use standard openings - usually the same opening --
naw!!!! just me whinning about losing-- i am that bad - i am ok for first 15 moves or so usually up in pieces points then i go into the tank - maybe i should just play first 15 moves then resign and just keep a score to see if my theory is right yep thats what i do
get me paper and pencil and after what ever move i feel i am still in the lead then resign write down details then move on
good plan doker yep a plan -- now just try to remember it when the meds kick in or i get (liquid coming from a male faucet part )ed !!!!after multi losses -- thats the trick
just read your read on my other game night -- you are right about not moving my king and getting my other bishop and knight moving -- will work on that today during my experiment
that thing about not moving till both knights and bishops out and about- going to work on that to -- if the opposing players let me
thanks for the advice as usuall
Ok, let's take a look at Doker's latest game...
We won! Excellent.
That's a very strange opening with that pawn move to start. Typically start with d or e pawn. Only missed one hanging piece (his knight). And that a3 take b2 threat early shouldn't have been ignored as it lead to loss of bishop.
Overall, I like the development and early castling. The main take away from that game - get all your pieces into the attack before starting the attack. That knight on the back row (shouldn't be there anyway) needed to get closer to center to help attack. And that rook on f1 needed to move to an open file (lined up with his king or queen).
well wed afternoon didn't go as planed lost a few in row so back to 100 again mostly queens attack early and iam not ready after 5 moves to do anything about it -- i have read your above syn. on my last game - all pieces into play is the take away from your read -- again i will try that next game - i will play a couple more games then i have to quit my eyes are getting strained looking at this small screen-- need to buy - a larger screen -- but that won't happen for a while so play a little less -- back to the games
done with chess till after supper its just toooo stupid on my part to play making blunders left right and centre more than i usually make - break time
well after supper didn't work either three losses one win then thursday morning three losses in row to lesser players again -- well lesser in that their score was low not their talent to beat me
iam getting a little depressed again but then again its not chess but life thats got me down --can't go anywhere money worries in retirement health issues - mind you stuff every one older has i know and with people in war zones that whole mess --and iam worried about winning at chess -- tell me that isn't (two people having sex )ed-up - but iam going to go back and stick with plan after 15 moves quit each game till i can find that perfect opening that works every time -- tall order i know - but i have two hours till my next meds will kick in - well (device that holds water back in river) i got to improve at some point don't i --or am i just a mother (what two people do at sex) kind of pig headed old sick guy and should just move on to the game of "go" or back to checkers maybe i should do what alot of others do here try a chess engine (offline )type to play games - i just not sure exactly how to do that -- so till i can figure that out i guess - back to the plan
soory about my rant -- just need a plan that works for even a slight improvement which i thought was happening -- but i was just fooling myself -- about my improvement numbers don't lie --- 100 score is where i am and belong
Will get out laid, improve your score, u so tense, if u need massage, I have madam kamai, she take God care of u, promise u play better, that's the 🔱 tric of da trade, please dw bout your faucet drip 💧 drip it goes and we keep you posted up on ur 🔙 backside start u up wit new queen hunky 💯
off to a nap meds kicking in -- will be back for more self punishment just at lunch time -- i think today is the day? -- maybe ?
sorry "slave" i really didn't understand a word of your post -- what are you trying to say i am interested thanks for what ever you said
till i can find that perfect opening that works every time
You have the opening that works every time, ya just haven't followed sound advice. I'm turning blue saying the same things... castle early, don't move queen early, don't move same piece twice in opening, don't move rooks until castled and developed. In spite that, here are your last 2 games today:
Queen move on move #2 and no castling. ![]()
Moved pawn 3 times to start game, followed by rook move. ![]()
You're killing me Doker. I won't give up on ya, but you're not making it easy. You should start games with center pawn moves, develop, castle, more development... you could do the following opening in nearly every single game regardless of what your opponent does, you'd win a lot more, and you'd make me very happy. Please, for me. I'm begging ya:
three hours today nothing but losing -- need to walk away -- this is really brutal iam nor seeing the board at all now - my centre moves not working my left side move not working my right side move not working -- hummmmmmmmmmm -- i will try a few more before i quit today -- iam affraid it will much of the same -- going to try some odd things now - still at 5 min games odd ten min games --
Why the rush on the first five moves? I get it - ya play 5-minute games and since the opening is fairly standard, you don't want to waste much time. Still, give yourself an extra second to check everything.
Looking at your games and the time stamp between moves... man, sometimes you move almost instantly - even in complicated positions. I play 2-minute games and I don't move as fast as you. That might explain why you don't always capture hanging pieces.
Just wait an extra tiny moment to see if any pieces are hanging - yours or theirs.
