well tonight went badly down to 133 again lost every game was up to 155 but didn't even make to 20 moves in some of the games - trying to due time and defense at same time doesn't work i guess will concentrate on defense next game and  forget about time  maybe will get better tomorow hope so or its back to playing checkers with my granddaughter again

well two sessions in row very badly played now down to the start again at 100 - even 100 score players beating me

have done  puzzles - to warm up but seems to not help --  will try again later -- need to get out the basement soon -------

maybe try a really different strategy-- all defense no offense  maybe that will work -- who knows lessons here  not helping just making me  more confused  which start to lead with -- oh well there is always poker to fall back on -- or again checkers with the grandchildren -- one of which has not lost a game against  me  she is seven in 9 games in a row -- maybe iam hopeless

this morning session  went about as expected  one game won three lost back down to 100 from 119 -curious question here -- does this feel this sinking feeling the same as when you get to 800 but can never get above 1000 --- cause i can see why people get really depressed about this game now ---- and who is  the joker here that said this was fun-- oh yea the guy who did made it to 1000 from 800 and only him. at least the puzzles are fun will try a few more games -- wonder why they never let you lose below 100 -- and why 100 -- must be a software thing

well of to tai chi to help me forget how useless iam at chess - lets see if i can remember all 108 moves  well maybe the first 17 moves  will suffice

well i think the time has come to give this game up going back to poker where i least hold my own -- still in the basement 100 again  after tonight sessions every game lost- just not seeing the big picture -- try this opening here -- that opening there  - its just not going to plan -- but i see now there  is  no  organized playable plan--- plans don't work in this game everything is free form one move to the next-- maybe at the high ranks there is a workable solution to every move  but at my level it just does not  compute  will try once more tomorrow-- will try stalling for time  to play out by just playing my queen - protecting everything else -  see what will happen -----

well another session in the bag --- 7 losses in row --- think its time to say goodbye to this game for a while unless i use a computer to cheat but then how fun would that be ----and we all know that this is a fun game ----hahahahahaha  maybe i will just play the bots for my last session

Avatar of dokerbohm

well for two days ihave be playing bots -- won 62% of the time -- so i went back to playing 3 minutes games live again - lost all 12 in row - against 100 players and 178 players alike -- guess i just supposed to play bots  and puzzles at this site -- sososososososo frustrating -- where is the fun in this as the 2000 plus players always tell you play for fun -- ha !!!!!!!

will try a few more games tonight just to rub the salt in real real deep

Need to learn the basics you have 800+ games played but what do you have to show from them? I looked at your most recent game move 2 h4 move 3 Rh3? So when people say pattern recognition this is what they mean everyone knows lifting your rook to h3 on move 3 is garbage blitz or not.  You need a strategy play slow games stop wasting your time playing bullet you need to be thinking on every move. Many people blitz out openings but they already understand them.  The game before that you got fools mated in 4 moves trying to do the same worthless rook lift.  2 patterns now weak f pawn with queen bishop fools mate and lifting the rook being bad stop doing this. So many games you do this its never good I can think of one line with black in a gambit where people play that rook lift and its not on turn 3 its mid game. best tip ever stop playing a/h pawn 2 moves forward and lifting the rook just don't do it.   New strategy leave the side pawns and rooks alone move the middle pawns knights and bishops then castle.

well played 10 games against bots won 5 lost 5 - is there a way to increase the power of these bots i should lose every game thats  how i play against real players -- what gives ???? to increase the bots playing power so  iam a least even with my playing abilities against real opponents  which is lose every game

forget my last input i figured how to get to play better bots now -- and will now lose every game like i do against real players

On the Brightside when you took my advice you were wining for a few moves in some games when you pushed the middle pawns and didn't do the rook lift garbage. you also like randomly pushing all your pawns one square. Should try every game to make your mission to move  both knights and bishops the two middle pawns and castle every game as fast as possible. so that's 7 moves  you should get in the first 10 every game i bet that alone helps a lot.  So every game middle pawns both knight both bishops castle boom.

ever thought about getting your own blog or youtube channel

you could make money on youtube or twitch instead of just posting about your results here

Watched the 52 move game you were winning almost the whole game and when you quit you actually were still in a drawn position not lost and from a practical standpoint with 2 knight and a pawn you could have forked that rook for a win and at your level he might not of even known how to mate with just a rook.  That was a good game! also do you know how to castle? one of those rook moves could have been castles instead though your king was quite safe that game in the center well done.  You had chances to smash that guy a few times that game play like this more and you will start getting wins.

well since i took some advice from above players and moved to ten minutes games - well started lasting to move 20 more often and even higher - still no wins but it does make one think i guess-- some players mind really take to much time to move  - but then who i am to judge i see why the bullet games are so much more fun for those that win them -- i stay at 10 min games till i get to move 30 - and then see what happens --  thanks for the advice to those that gave it     --

You're on the right track. You need enough time to properly consider your moves and to learn from your mistakes. It's the same with learning anything. You'll get away with making moves which aren't very good at your current rank, but if you want to progress you should be looking for the best move in each situation. The longer you search for them the more you'll learn. The advice to increase your time control is good. After your matches, the analysis tool can help you find the moves you missed. After that all you need to do is put what you learned into practice and repeat ad infinitum. I looked at one of your matches and I think you're too dependent on your queen moves. Try looking for combinations where you attack a square with more than one piece at the same time.

again i have not won anything yet but playing ten min.  games rather than 3 min games has made my blood not boil so much -- losing less cause i am playing less  plus i seem to get to move 20 more often than not in these games - still doing my three puzzles a day- wish it was more i do more but those you have to pay for it is beyond my retirees budget

will start another  game after my honey due  chores are over -- the list is not that long today
