rook knight vs rook

how would you evaluate this position. I think this game would be ended without trying to play on at club level and be announced a draw. I've seen rook vs rook being declared draw without playing 50 moves and I think it is the same if rook knight vs rook was on the board.

two famous GM played on in this position:

Yes, I'd play on and checkmate White. I'd play Rg3+ followed by Rg8, keeping the king on the side of the board. Then I'd wing the knight around as shielding so my king could walk over to the other king and threaten checkmate. Depending on White's responses I'd have to use a few tactics, but the mate is pretty standard. Buy Pandolfini's Endgame Course. He covers stuff like this, and how a king and rook can defeat a king and bishop.

The mates are not always guaranteed. In some situations the weaker side can get a draw. He gives examples.

I didn't know that there was an endgame forum.
but you are right G.Kasparov was black and checkmated J.Polgar
if I looked at the position I would assume that it was a draw.

According to Nalimov, the position should be drawn.

I wonder if this position is drawn why Kasparov and Polgar did not agree to a grandmaster draw.

Yup, on move 79 Rf1 was the only drawing move, she played Ra1.

Kasparov found the only winning move, 79 ... Ne6 (mate in 16)
