Rude Players

Today after winning and losing a game to a person we played a tie braker for fun. I mouse slipped my 2nd move and then asked for a draw and fourth game as the tie braker (he would even get his rating up seeing as I was higher then him). He refused and kept playing and I couldn't understand why it seems just outragousely rude. Anyways I went through with the game drudged along and he blundered and I mated. But I just want to know why oh why would someone not accept the draw and play another game.

Did you tell your opponent what had happened? I have had people ask for draws without explanation and so I just ignored their request. It was not my intention to be rude when I did so. I simply did not know who the person and had no compassion toward them due to the nature of this setting.

My beef with rudeness comes from trolls who feel the need to comment and taunt.

People lie. He could have believed you just recognized a bad move after you made it, which is more common than you may think.

Be more careful with your mouse so you will never have to worry about it :)

Competitive players don't give pity draws, unless if they're playing little children maybe.

I did explain theTiger he just didn't seem to care. Also Dutchday I don't know if it would've been a pity draw I had mouse slipped immidiately and had hoped for another game.

Ha, very well indeed. He didn't offer a draw later on but he did ask for another game.

Blitz games come with a little messing around. For example if you are taller than your opponent you can pick up the clock so your opponent can no longer press it. (I think a joke of Hans Bohm's)

Also you can put your bishop on another colour to get a drawn opposite colour bishop endgame if your opponent doesn't see it.

Making a legal move doesn't even come close to that.
