Name and shame!  Share the actual comments and their names - it would make this post so much more interesting!

I have noticed the same thing - there are quite a few odd people that play chess for the sole purpose of taunting people. Regarding the rematch, when playing in single game mode you shouldn't expect one. Some people only have time for one game, or don't have enough enthusiasm to play the same player twice.

peolpe like these like to get attention, the best thing is neglect them completely.

I have not experienced rude players yet but to avoid it go to live chat and turn chat off.

I've experienced rudeness just the once; an opponent telling me to resign. All other contact has been good natured.

isn't it rude to turn the chat off ? I mean you could say "do you mind if I turn the chat off please ?" first.

First they wont give u a rematch and when they are winning they insult you for no reason.

Not giving a rematch isn't rude. Refusing a rematch neither.

If somebody offers a rematch, I will usually grant him. But if not, I go to another opponent.

That is against the rules! Next time that happens, tell them to stop cheating. I think chess.com should set up an alert button for when it happens.

Because their life is defined by their chess.com rating.

I never give rematches win or lose only because I like taking breaks between games. It's not a matter of wanting to be rude. Secondly, what do you care if someone you don't even know calls you a name. Do what I do and disable chat. I don't chat during a game because I'm not smart enough to simultaneously engage my opponent in chatting about nothing and concentrating on the game.

I agree that declining a rematch is not rude. The color allocation of the first game is random and there is no obligation to play a second game.
