Rudeness - rejecting friend requests

I have friend requests turned off in settings, but people bypass it by requesting it in Live Chess.
What about the BFF setting?

(...) besides, I wouldn't decline a friend request irl, (...)
What does it look like ?
"Ok buddy, we know each other for some time now, can I tag you so that people know we are friends ?"

maybe they don't want to be notified every time this irrelevant person logs in or out. want fake friends...join facebook.

Change image and name to David Hasselhoff. Works every time.
...or some fine ass lady, that always works.
Thanks for your friend request Perfect_Idiot, which I have accepted. Are you by any chance related to Charles Manson? I think you should come clean.

lol, no ... hm, when I wrote that, it appears I didn't think it through enough.
But when I was in kindergarden, that practise was actually quite common: "Do you want to be my friend? Then we'll play together in the sandbox" etc.

LOL ! I sentence you to one page of being trolled for daring to write this.

OMG this is the internet I can't actually harm you in person...,
You'd be surprised how much damage can be done via the Internet. Cyber-bullying is a very real issue.
You're just a dumb jerk. From Canada, no less. Is Canada even real?

I thought among kids that behavior was considered normal. Though I noticed, that some poor buggers never got any proposed friend requests, 'cuz nobody wanted to play with them.
Ah, kids, how honest and cruel they can be!

No. On the North American map, above the U.S. is British and French territory.

OP: Thanks for sending me a friend request! I accepted it :)
About the issue that you have raised, personally I would prefer to have my friend request rejected over the recipient not responding at all. That way at least I wouldn't have to wait indefinitely.
Thats cool man I appreciate it. 99.9% of my friend requests get rejected so I really appreciate it. I really don't see why people are so stuffy on this site.
You just have to realize that not everybody is in the "Facebook" age of calling random strangers they meet on the internet their friends.
I don't accept any friend requests unless we actually had a conversation during the games we play, and I feel like I can safely judge them as an intelligent, thoughtful player that I would like to play again sometime.
From the "chess should be like call of duty and have cool titles" (or something along those lines) thread you posted a while back, you would not meet my criteria. And so I would decline a friend request. I would also not feel obligated to give you a reason.
@praetorian55: You're absolutely right, but you must understand that the number of friends you make here serves also as an indicator of how socially active/ extroverted you are.
OP is my friend now, but did that change anything. Nope, but a stranger will just see that the number of my friends has increased by +1, and besides, I wouldn't decline a friend request irl, so why should I on a Chess site, where I know that the befriended person even shares at least one interest with me, that is Chess?
