Rudeness during the game.

I don't understand it. We are here to play an honorable opponent in an enjoyable game of chess. Most of the time that is the reality. But then you get the ones that have to be miserable in the chat. Why not win respectfully on the board? I don't get it. I hope everyone is having a great day and playing great games. Positivity is always best. Cheers

But some people are very nice. You can't shut out good people because of a few bad ones.

It is not necessary to devote the whole thread to clowns

Just ignore them. At one point you may encounter such negativity, maybe that guy is titled who knows.

I never feel like chatting with people during a game. I'm also careful of it because I fear there are many people trying to troll the opponent to put them off.

I used to chat even during 1|0 games

Better to turn off the chat. When the chat is open, it is about 50-50 that the opponent is obnoxious. Sometimes it is a deliberate tactic to rattle you during a game, other times the other individual is repulsive without being tactical about it. I remember an Egyptian who decided to disparage the inhabitants of the British Isles. I retaliated with a negative remark about General Sisi. I lost the game and simply banned that individual. My tendency to turn off chat was simply reinforced by that.

amen brother - when you dishonour yourself you lose, no matter the outcome of the game

I leave chat off unless something remarkable or hilarious occurs.

I also never look up at my opponents rating until, and if, I feel that I am going to win,(or lose).

Keeps the subliminal intimidation to a minimum.

I have finished MANY games and moved on without knowing who I played, actually

What's considered rude? That's really in the eye and mind of the beholder. What're some examples?

I have no idea how anyone can play live games and type messages while the clock is ticking.
