Rule change for fun (and fewer draws?)

This won't go anywhere but, in an effort to make chess more fun (in my opinion), dynamic, and to possibly reduce the number of draws seen at upper levels...

How would the game be changed if we allowed each player to move one of their pawns--just once per game--forward an additional square? To clarify, all opening moves would stay the same: a pawn, while on its second rank, can move forward 1 or 2 squares. After that, however, each player, at any time that player chooses--but only once per game--may move any of their pawns forward 1 additional square. That pawn would still be allowed to be captured en passant. Once a player has used this ability with one of their pawns, they may not use it again in that game--for any pawn. Each player gets to use this ability, at their discretion, only one time per game.

There are problems with this, but do they outweigh the benefits? Thoughts? I have several, but I'm curious to hear what you have to think.

Also, what would we call this move? Blitzing? Charging?

Happy chessing.

The upgraded sicilian defense:

In your example, with the new rules, Black could move 2...c3. Terrible move, but you get my point. Black would then forfeit his ability to move any pawn an additional square for the rest of the game. All of Black's pawns would move normally from then on.
