Meh, you can't have it both ways. Wars of aggression to annex new territories are going to p*ss people off. Later, after the new territories have been yours for a while, people will calm down again.

And people are jerks online. Chess.com will usually mute people, but it can take a week... report and forget the person exists is the best course of action.
