RUSSIAN FLAGGED REMOVED?

Is this a glitch? Or did they mean to do it because I though chess.com said they wouldn't do something like that

"Click here to see our stance on the war in Ukraine"

Might be, since I have USA flag (always have) and the other day it displayed as a different flag (neither Russia nor Ukraine) for a few games, but then it was fixed. 

It could be similar here where chess.com has sometimes interfering with the flags being displayed properly. 

The really "weird" thing with this though is that your "Russian" flag has a hyperlink to a chess.com article. 

I honestly don't know if this is intended or not, but I suspect we'll find out in the near future.

Hmm... Is your flag supposed to be the Russian flag? It says "click to see our stance on the war in Ukraine". If it is the Russian flag, I think that answers that question, and I also think an administrator is about to be fired for it.

After checking the article, it's definitely intended.

It's not a glitch, the article specifically states that Russian flags have been replaced.

Obviously there is a lot of anti-war views within Russia as well (remember the many protests within Russia before the war broke out?), so clearly not everyone in Russia is at fault. 

Assuming this hyperlink was not a bug/glitch though: changing the flag icon on chess.com isn't really a big deal though, so "penalized" seems a bit dramatic for not displaying a flag on a free chess site.

Got the same question. I mean if you are getting into politics - alright, its your own business, but whats the point of deleting russian flag?
