As reported by Chess Base last month, the husband and wife team of Vas and Iweta Rajlich solved the King's Gambit on IBMs Watson computer with their Rybka program.

Not content to sit on laurels, they have backed up the result, by winning with 100 cores the ICT in Leiden over Critter, the only competitor to score a draw.

Here is the final round game, Rybka with White avoiding the King's Gambit (drawn), but still unable to outmuscle the 6 core Critter!

Hate to burst your bubble, but..... the chessbase article on solving the King's Gambit was an April Fool's joke.   http://chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=8051

Falcon is correct... the whole thing was a joke.  (Chess openings won't be solve in our lifetime.)
