Rybka4 and Fritz 12

I purchased Rybka4 because I was told it was the best in its price range, and I wanted to use it for analysis and training.  But the book is shallow and its help file is Fritz 12, not even its most recent version!  Can anyone explain this?

Also, the Chessbase interface it uses to play on and off the net feels like an old DOS program with a visual access program built on top of it.  It's supposed to have a tutor program in it but all clicking on its menu item opens up is a couple multimedia samples.  And it brags that it gives you a one year membership to its online program, but you get that for free anyway.  You still have to purchase everything but the right to play!

Am I missing something here?
