Sand bag chess pieces

Guys for chrismas i got this Sand chess set do you think its cool?

Intriguing.

I hate to jump on a bumped thread, but…. Have to admit they look pretty cool. 

Me too, hate to bump a thread from someone who's offline for three years now but they are pretty cool. I doubt they would survive three cats though.

This would be really cool and fairly practical if the "pieces" head was stuffing but the body of the pieces had a mechanism to empty and refill it. This way you could take the chess set and a big checker patterned beach towel with you to the beach and just fill the bags there. The weight would be ideal for windy beaches and you could just empty the sand out and pack it back up before leaving. 

Or two or three little boys. I can just see the “wars” they would have tossing them at each other. “Hey what’s going on in there? Just playing chess Mom and Dad!”
