Sandbagging and rematching

I've always had a feeling that people who don't rematch were a bit impolite.

Then today I played a couple of people who crushed me game after game after game, though I wasn't playing badly and they were a similar rating to me. After I watched my rating points disappear I looked at their profiles. Both regularly play nearly 200 points higher than their ratings were today when they started playing me. 

Now that feels bad. I can't blame them - anyone can have a bad spell and drop rating points and end up underrated. But it's hard on those they play on the way back up.

Perhaps avoiding rematches is the way forward? It would minimize the loss of rating points to those strong-but-underrated players who are coming back into form.
