Hello, my name is Sanjeev Mansotra, I'm a beginner player in chess.
What strategic advantage does the move 7...Nbd7 offer in the opening phase, and how does it contribute to Black's overall plan in this particular chess game?
Hi! In order to help, you may want to actually link the chess game so we can view the game. Often, though, nd7 is the second best developing move for black’s knight (after nc6). It may be played because the traditional square is occupied, it may be played to not walk into a pin, it may be played to offer support to a knight on f6, or it may just be known theory for a different reason.
