I play Qd8 Scandinavian and you have to get your c8 bishop out before e6 so here it would be 5...Bf5 but I agree it is a kinda bad opening.

There’s a line I like to play sometimes against the Scandinavian, called the leonhardt gambit. Lots of fascinating lines in the variation including this trap:

@thiccmaster3k that line is not a refutation, it’s just a basic trap I enjoy.

Black doesn't have to take the b4 pawn. He has Qb6 as well as Qe5+. Qe5+ could transpose into some type of variation of the Qd6 Scandinavian.

The Scandinavian is just a bad opening. Folks can be as salty as they want. They can take their scandinavian opening and their salt and keep losing with a refuted opening.

4 b4? and 5 Nb5? and 6 Bc4? are bad. Just the developing move 6...Nc6 wins for black: up a pawn, no compensation.
