Score not being added

I've had a few games with substantial finishing scores that haven't been added to my rating total. This is frustrating me and I can't work out why. I can't find anything about how the scoring system works which is a little confusing. Thank you in advance for your advice.

When you make a seek for online, there should be a dropdown menu to select rated or unrated.

Thank you for being helpful with this. I'm using the app so am unsure if the drop down menu exists but I'll change it on my pc. There must be another way of doing it on the app. Thanks again to you both for your advice.
