Seeking advice from Chavet fans!

Greetings Chavet fans! I have been seeking a B210 since Kasparov v Short in 1993, but until I found your discussions recently I didn't know anything about the maker! I actually bought a Chavet set in 1994 because it resembled the one I wanted in many ways, but it was never quite right and now I know why - mine is a B204! Anyway I have just bought a vintage B206 and it turns out the king is only 2.75 inches. Isn't the B206 supposed to be taller? Also the felt is coming away and the weights are popping out on some of the pieces. Would it be better to re-felt myself with new sticky felt, or would this devalue the set?
