A question - and I apologize in advance if this has already been discussed here.

Is the chess.com algorithm able to detect when players only cheat during critical game situations?  For example, consulting the engine for a sequence of 2-3 key moves, and then playing out the rest of their game at a natural level of play?

Just an FYI. The site doesn't like or allow discussions of cheating in the forums.

The perception of cheating levels is orders of magnitude more than the actual amount. The vast majority of games and players are clean.

The site closed more than 123,000 accounts in August for fair play violations and has a full team of staff working on reports along with some automated systems for detection.

That said, discussions of cheating, potential cheating, or cheat detection are not allowed in the general forums. If you would like to discuss join the following club
