What would happen if Sheldon Cooper set his foot into the mystic forest of chess? Below is my scenario

Age 14: Sheldon sets his foot into this great realm

Literally 2 days later: Sheldon memorizes 60% of every possible opening variation and lines thanks to his ‘bringing-a-13-year old-to-Caltech’ brain

A week later: Sheldon becomes California chess champion

Three months later: Sheldon wins US Open

Age 16: Sheldon is GM! Hooray!

Age 17: Sheldon DESTROYS Vishy

Age 17.5: Sheldon beats Hikaru and Magnus and becomes #1

Age 18: With his Caltech friends, Sheldon revives Alekhine and Capablanca with his genius brain only to beat them in a chess game

I can totally picture Sheldon sitting across from Magnus, tapping the clock and saying, “You’ve activated my Queen’s Gambit Declined defence, Leonard!”

Knowing him, he’d probably also insist on correcting everyone’s chess terminology mid-game and refuse to castle because it “defies optimal spatial logic.”

Still, I’d pay good money to see Sheldon trying to “bazinga” his way through a blitz game against Hikaru!

Another one of the ideas is that Sheldon calls the president of FIDE to tell him that the queen is a historically inaccurate piece. The script:

(FIDE President gets a phone call)

President: who is this?

Sheldon: I’m Sheldon. I’ve called you to tell you that the queen in chess has a historically inaccurate movement range.

President: wha—-

Sheldon: Most queens did not fight alongside soldiers. Because of this, a queens should have a more short range compared to the bishop or rook.

President: Whatever.
