Are you asking which is the better game or which player would win mixing these two games together?
Who would win if they played with each other! That's the ultimate challenge!
It obviously depends on the skill level of both players and how well versed they are at each respective game. I checked out the rules and watched a few matches. Shogi seems a bit more complicated than Chess, at least to me. I assume Shogi may demand more skill out of the player as opposed to chess so I'm probably going to have to go with Shogi.
Though, I'm probably just being naive

I must ask for some clarifications. 1. is the "reincarnation" effect in shock active only for the shogi side? 2. does the chess side get to promote? 3. I think shogi will won to be honest. it's a slightly simpler concept and the whole reincarnation thing is helpful as heck. I love shogi. I also vote for the land of cherry blossoms.

Mr. Johnson the only real difference is the bughouse rules and the fact that there's no queen. the pawns also attack forwards.
Reincarnation can't be used because you can't revive pieces from the other game!
Chess can promote!

I can see the pawns providing more of an advantage in Shogi. Like I said, naive.

Presumably shogi given you can use your oponents pieces after capturing.

Unless...we implement bughouse and set the rules for shogi carnate thing for cheas.

I think that Chess wins if the both players's skills are the same, because Chess pieces are more powerful than Shogi's. For instance, the most powerful piece of Chess is Queen, and the most powerfl piece of Shogi is Rook, which moves like Chess's Rook, and there is only one Rook in Shogi, compared with two of Chess. But it will be quite difficult for Chess to win quickly because Shogi has more advantages in defence
