Should i continue the main line?

Everyone learn Opening and play or follow the main line... I was wondering that if I am playing the Sicilian (or any other) any variation let yugoslav attack and my opponent play 5...a7 instead of g6 means he did not follow the main line.. and play differently..then should I continue the opening main line...
how will it effect on my game or on my opponent.. who will have advantage..
