The choice is yours, but you're not going to gain anything by just resigning. Maybe you're cooked, but at least make your opponent prove it.
Should I just resign?
If not part of a daily tournament, then why did you accept such a higher rated opponent? I say you should still play it out once you started it. You currently have 42 ongoing games, so I doubt 2 games with a higher rated player is really going to bother you much.
As a bonus, I also like to check the timeout percentage in their stats. Is your opponent someone who always finishes their games, or do they have a history of losing on time? If they have a history of losing on time, then move as soon as you get the notification of it being your move because it means their countdown to move next begins and more likely they’ll show up late and lose on time.
You are right some people who are just a standard player around 1000 to 1200 they can still run out of time since most people do know about this time control when a person is having there first daily game on chess.com they will probably run out of time on the first game and soon they will learn about it

They accepted me, just to clarify
I started a lot of daily games and two of them I got matched with some girl who’s 1440 elo rapid (slipped past my rating range with 900 daily), and 2000 elo blitz 💀 I’m so cooked 😭
Note: I’m 900 elo rapid
