I think it's quite possible that someone could get on and get off in order to stop and start the auto abandonment clock. I've had players do that. They get off and come back on and on and off again and restart that 3 minute clock. Is it a technical issue idk are they trying to get you to resign idk...
Idk about you, but I just find abandonment annoying because it wastes my time waiting. I would tend to start to multitask and check back once in a while so I don't lose by abandonment/timeout.
